Grading criteria for Forest Information Systems

This course is designed to be experiential. You as a student will go through the process of designing, implementing and analyzing an spatial inventory for an area of forest land. Because the course is not taught in the tradtional format, this does not mean there are not specific skills and concepts you must master.

You will find at the following link a rubric for the concepts and skills that are evaluated for each student in the class.

Rubric for Forest Information Systems

The rubric lists concepts and skills that you must demonstrate on multiple occations during the class. These concepts and skills can be demonstrated in any grading opportunity.

Each evaluated criteria will be assessed at for quality using the following:

Basic - At this level the you have completed the minimum competency for this skill or concept. Two demonstrations of at least the basic level is required for all criteria to pass the course!

Advanced - At this level a student has demonstrated the concept or skill exhibiting a through understanding to the idea of skill in question.

Expert - At this level the student exhibits the skill or an understanding of the concept that would be typical of a professional in their disipline and is functioning as would be expected of an expert.
